Online Access to Medical Records

GP practices in England are required to give patients online access to their medical records. Your GP record includes information on medicines, vaccines, and test results. It will also include communications between your GP and other services. For example, referral letters and hospital discharge summaries.

The NHS App is for people aged 13 and over who are registered with a connected GP surgery. You can use some of the features without your GP surgery being connected. As of November 2019, 95% of surgeries are connected to the NHS App.

When using the NHS app you will be able to:

  • Make or cancel an appointment
  • Order repeat prescriptions
  • View your medical record including investigations and test results

You can also access your NHS account using the NHS website.

Whilst there are other apps available we know the NHS app is safe and secure and it takes you through the process of registering step by step and without need to call or visit the practice again. This saves you and our staff time.

Download the NHS App, or open the NHS website in a web browser, to set up and log in to your NHS account. Owned and run by the NHS, your NHS account is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services online.

To have an NHS account, you must be aged 13 or over and registered with a GP surgery in England.

You will need to complete and return the online access request form to the Surgery before being able to use the NHS app. Please return the form with some ID.
